Healing doesn’t begin with having all the answers.
It begins with feeling safe enough to be fully known.
Online therapy for adults across Texas navigating trauma, attachment wounds, and experiences that still shape the present.
Maybe no one has ever asked what it has been like…
Instead, they only asked what happened.
The ways you learned to survive probably made perfect sense at the time. They just weren’t meant to carry you forever.
The moments that taught you being strong
felt easier than being vulnerable.
The moments that taught you having needs
came with a cost.
The moments that taught you to handle things
on your own.
And the loneliness that can come from
carrying those lessons for so long.
You were never meant to carry the hardest parts of your story alone.
There is something powerful about being understood. About having another person sit beside you in the places that have been too difficult to put into words.
The grief. The fear. The anger. The parts of you that have been carrying more than anyone realized.

Sometimes healing begins there.
In giving words to what has been carried quietly, making sense of what once felt impossible to understand, and slowly discovering what changes when you no longer have to hold everything alone.
Together We Can Explore…
The Ways We Learn to Love and Protect Ourselves
When closeness feels complicated, relationships can become a place where previous pain continues to echo. Together we can explore the experiences that shaped how you connect, trust, show vulnerability, and allow others in.
The Ways We Learned to Survive
Maybe you learned that being strong felt safer than being vulnerable. Maybe your needs were made to feel like a burden. Maybe you have spent years carrying everything alone. The ways we learned to survive often make perfect sense when they are viewed through the lens of our story.
The Parts of Our Story That Still Hurt
Some experiences change something inside of us. Not always in ways that others can see. Sometimes, the hardest experiences are not the ones we talk about most. They are the ones we learned to carry quietly. The losses we never fully grieved. The wounds we learned to live around. Healing can begin when those experiences no longer have to be carried alone.
What if healing felt less like fixing yourself...
and more like finally understanding yourself?

Why some feelings are so difficult to name. Why certain patterns keep finding their way back into your life.

I hope this can be a place where you don’t have to have all of those answers yet.
A place to become curious about what’s there, understand where it came from, and begin discovering what you need now.
The Heart Behind Rooted Pines
Hi, I’m Claire,
The heart behind Rooted Pines Healing
Claire Ramirez-Yocum, M.A., LPC-Associate, Supervised by Shelly Thompson, LPC-S.
The First Step
Maybe you've wondered whether what you're carrying is "enough" to deserve therapy.
__________________
Maybe you don't know what you would even say if someone asked where you wanted to begin.
Maybe you're still deciding.
You Don’t Have To
...have everything figured out
...know exactly where to begin
...have the “right” reason to be in therapy
You Can
...bring questions
...bring uncertainty
...bring the parts of your story you’ve never said out loud
...move at a pace that feels safe
What It Can Feel Like
To be listened to without having to earn it.
To be met with curiosity instead of judgment.
To begin understanding yourself with a little more compassion.
Healing doesn't ask you to arrive ready.
Sometimes the first step is simply allowing yourself to begin.
Maybe
You're
Wondering
There can be room for questions, too.
-
Maybe you've caught yourself saying, “Other people have been through so much worse.”
Maybe it wasn't one big thing. Maybe it was the things that happened over and over.
The pressure to always be okay.
Years of feeling responsible for everyone else's emotions.
Years of wondering whether asking for help made you a burden.Pain isn't something that needs to be compared.
If something you've lived through has shaped the way you see yourself, your relationships, or the world around you, that matters.
Not because your story has to be the hardest.
But because it's yours.
-
No one wakes up one day deciding they'll never need anyone again. That's usually a story written over years.
Maybe asking for help was met with disappointment.
Or rejection.
Or silence.Sometimes we don't stop asking because we become stronger.
________
Sometimes we stop asking because we've learned what it feels like when no one comes. So, little by little, handling everything alone begins to feel safer than hoping someone else will be there.
The ways we learn to survive usually have a story behind them.
Maybe you've relied on yourself for so long that it's hard to imagine another way.
________
If that's true, I hope this becomes one place where you no longer feel like you have to.
-
Maybe you've been trying to make sense of everything for so long that you aren't even sure where the story begins anymore.
That's okay.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't talking.
It's wondering how to tell a story that has been unfolding for years.Where do you begin?
With childhood?
The relationship?
The loss?
The thing that happened last week? You don't have to figure that out before coming.
We can start with whatever feels closest today. And little by little, we'll begin to understand the rest together.
-
Sometimes it isn't that there are no words.
It's that no one has ever slowed down long enough to help you find them.
Maybe you've spent years explaining what happened...
Without ever having the space to wonder what it was like to live through it.
What it felt like.
How it changed you.
What you've been carrying ever since.
Or maybe those words have never felt safe enough to say out loud.
You don't have to find perfect words here.
Sometimes healing begins long before the words do.
Sometimes it begins with someone willing to sit beside you while you find them.
-
Therapy here isn't about being told what to do or being given a list of things to fix.
We'll slow down enough to understand what you've lived through, the ways you learned to survive it, and how those experiences may still be shaping the way you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.
There will be room for insight, emotion, curiosity, and sometimes simply sitting with something that has never had space before.
Understanding matters. But sometimes knowing why isn't the same as feeling differently.
So our work can also make room for what comes up beneath the understanding, the feelings that are difficult to name, the parts of yourself you've learned to protect, and the things that may be easier to talk about than to actually feel.
We move at a pace that allows trust to grow rather than expecting vulnerability before you're ready.
-
You might come here feeling the effects of experiences that happened years ago, struggling in relationships without fully understanding why, or noticing patterns in yourself that once helped you survive but no longer feel like they fit.
My work is especially centered around trauma and painful experiences, attachment and relationship wounds, childhood emotional neglect, sexual assault, anxiety and depression, and questions around identity and belonging.
Sometimes that means exploring something that happened. Other times, it means understanding what didn't happen. The care, protection, connection, or emotional presence you needed but didn't receive.
We may also explore the ways those experiences continue to shape how you see yourself, what you expect from relationships, and the ways you've learned to protect yourself within them.
-
That can make it incredibly difficult to imagine trying again.
Especially if you left feeling unseen.
Misunderstood.
Or like you had to work harder to explain yourself than you did to carry your pain.Sometimes it isn't therapy itself that didn't help.
Sometimes you never felt truly known within it.Healing doesn't always begin because someone asks the right questions.
Sometimes it begins within a relationship where there is enough trust for the things beneath the surface to finally have somewhere to go.If we meet and something doesn't feel quite right, I hope you'll keep looking.
Not because every therapist will be the right fit.
But because the relationship matters, and you deserve to find someone you can truly do this work with.
-
Maybe all you know right now is that something about this feels familiar.
Maybe something you've read here has helped you recognize a part of your own story.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't have to know exactly what you're looking for yet.________
You can take your time.
When you're ready, I'll be here.
Take
a moment.
Just to notice what happened while you were reading.
Maybe something felt familiar.
Maybe one sentence stayed with you a little longer than the others.
Maybe part of you felt understood in a way you weren't expecting.
Maybe something inside
you quietly whispered...
…I’ve felt that too.
Maybe, for just a
moment, you didn't feel
quite as alone.
__________
Sometimes that's
enough for today.
